Donations for the forseeable future are dedicated to the species protected by The Center for Biological Diversity, a conservation organization devoted to habitat restoration & preservation.

Biodiversity reminds me that transformation is required on every path toward maturity. Growing pains & rites of passage shape us from who we were to who we can become. This is true for all species. Build the cocoon, shed the skin, & lose the two front teeth. Transformation is liminal. A metamorphosis toward maturity. How else can we admire a butterfly, a majestic serpent, or a winning smile?

The current recipient of donations go to the San Francisco Garter Snake. This rare unique turquoise snake is endangered due to over 40 toxic pesticides in its native habitat and illegal poaching on the exotic pet black market.
